Accessibility Statement
Last updated: February 2026
Our target
Throughline Housing targets Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, for the public-facing pages. Fairness of access is central to the purpose of this site — the people most affected by housing scarcity often have the highest barriers to reaching an online form, and this site should not be one more barrier.
What has been tested
We have manually verified the following on the public pages — the seeker directory, the provider door, the landing page, and the generated program and place pages:
- Semantic structure with header, main content, and footer; consistent heading hierarchy
- Form labels explicitly associated with their inputs via
for/idattributes - Tap targets of at least 44×44 CSS px on primary buttons and links
- AA-passing color contrast for body text against the primary palette
- Content readable at 200% zoom width without horizontal scrolling
- Full keyboard access to primary forms and buttons
- Language switch exposed on every page with an appropriate
langattribute on the root element - The critical "we-are-done" handoff element is announced to screen readers via ARIA roles and live regions
What has not yet been audited
We have not completed a formal end-to-end third-party accessibility audit. Specific areas where gaps may still exist:
- Some internal workspace surfaces (outside the public scope) have not been audited for ARIA labels on complex widgets like the financial scenario editors
- We have not yet run screen-reader testing across every variant of dynamic results output
Reporting a barrier
If something on the site does not work with assistive technology or otherwise prevents you from using it, email throughlinehousing@gmail.com with the page name and a brief description. We aim to respond within 5 business days, and we will prioritize fixes that unblock people looking for housing.
